For many bloggers specially newly started bloggers link building is boring, confusing and a wastage of time, but still it plays an important role in the whole Search Engine Optimization. If you are reading my post you are a blogger or a webmaster and if I am correct you know the importance of getting first position in Google search results. I decided to create this type of post because many of the bloggers are wasting time in applying these types of strategies which are either harmful and not useful. So, these are the steps you should make backlinks with these tips.

Category of Your Blog:

These kind of mistakes are quite popular by the newbies, if your blog category is gaming than you should make backlinks on that website which is of gaming. Getting links from a site related to technology will harm you instead of improving. If you want that your blog should get good position than you must focus on a relevant website otherwise you will get no benefit and Google Penguin will penalize you.

Spamming:

I have seen at most of the places that after making one backlink the users doesn't wait for a while, he makes second link at once, this type of comment is counted as spam and Google Penguin always count spam comments and punishes that blog. Remember it is my own experience, For example if you have made one backlink than after 1 hour you should make another in this way Google will think that he is making legal links and also his algorithm like Panda and Penguin will not punish you if you will apply this strategy.

Blog Commenting:

This can be strange for you to know this fact but I am not telling a lie, blog commenting is one of the best way to get backlink but it fails in link building because most of them use nofollow attribute. Because you can see:

You can see that bloggers commonly use a nofollow attribute and this thing only a webmaster knows. Most of the newbies doesn't know about it and they are running their website. Almost many of the newbies are giving preference to CommentLuv enabled blogs because they are thinking that they are making dofollow backlinks, but they are wrong, because 95 out of 100 blogs are giving them nofollow backlink which is useless. Surely the question will rise up in your mind that what is the difference between dofollow and nofollow.

Difference Between DoFollow and NoFollow:

A backlink which is considered as a correct link by search engine such as Google, Bing and Yahoo is called do-follow and all these search engine give preference to this link.

That type of link which is not considered by search engines correctly is called no-follow backlink. Search engine doesn't consider nofollow because the search engine spider doesn't follow that attribute. Therefore, don't waste your time on commenting on different blogs.

Link Exchange:

There are many directories on the internet which do links exchange method. The whole process works as "I linked you now you should have linked me" this kind of links is known as reciprocal external and penguin is ready to punish those sites which are using reciprocal system. Because these reciprocal types doesn't reflect the genuineness of any blog/websites.

Making Backlinks on a Larger Sites:

You know that in the beginning of blogging many users are making back-links on that site which is already filled with others. Forexample if a website has already 1000 backlinks and your links are one of it, than I don't think it will help you. A links are powerful and value able if it comes from a page which has few links.
